Hisense DH-70K1SJE4 Specifications
The Hisense DH-70K1SJE4 is a 70-pint dehumidifier that is most notable for also coming with a built-in ionizer.
But this model has very solid specifications beyond the ionization feature, including good low temperature operation (down to 38 degrees F); Energy Star rating for efficiency; a programmable timer; an adjustable humidistat; full-bucket alert; and a continuous gravity-drain option that can be used with a standard garden hose.
Hisense DH-70K1SJE4 Reviews
Although relatively new, to date the DH-70K1SJE4 has already earned a satisfaction rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars based on 9 user reviews on amazon.com. As we said before, any score over 4.0 is a real accomplishment in the humidifier realm, where products often underwhelm most consumers. Here are some excerpts from the actual DH-70K1SJE4 reviews that pretty well sum up what people thought of it:
- “For a dehumidifier, the DH-70K1SJE4 is surprisingly modern and attractive. The DH-70K1SJE4 is a beast that will knock the humidity down in large rooms quickly.”
- “a really effective product that manages to get my 550 square foot basement from 65 percent humidity to under 30% in a few hours.”
- “…overall a decent workhorse with nice, high tech styling.”
- “The humidifier is powerful, even at low speed. It isn’t the quietest humidifier I’ve ever had, but is certainly not the loudest.”
- “Built well. Good for a large area. Quiet for its size.”
Overall, most users reported amazement at this model’s brute dehumidifying power and generally indicated that noise levels were good or at least tolerable. The few negative reviewers, however, felt this unit was a bit noisy and consumed a bit more electricity than they expected. Given these observations, it appears that this unit is best suited for intermittent heavy duty work rather than continuous running.
Price & Value
Currently selling for roughly $279, the Hisense DH-70K1SJE4 is reasonably-priced for a dehumidifier with this much power and so many features. However, if you really need a workhorse model such as this, it’s also wise to consider the running cost of model with this much power. Nevertheless, as we said above, for intermittent duty, this is a great choice that can bring humidity levels down very quickly.

Concluding Thoughts & Opinions
We really like the Hisense DH-70K1SJE4 for it’s brute dehumidifying power and above-average feature set, which includes the built in ionizer. It’s also quite attractive and modern-looking, as far as dehumidifiers go. However, given the comments about noise and energy consumption, we think this model is best suited to large spaces and/or homes with particularly challenging conditions. For example, this would be an ideal option for those with large and very sticky basements – as the the DH-70K1SJE4 can knock down humidity levels in fairly short order.
On the other hand, if you don’t need quiet this much power and/or want a unit to use in the bedroom or for continuous duty, the Hisense might be overkill.
